Assignment task: Watch the film "The Price of Freedom"
For this essay, you will analyze a film with an argumentative purpose. Many of these are in the form of a documentary, or a film that follows real people with real stories. You should watch your film carefully, with a critical eye, and then compose a 2-3 page essay about its argumentative techniques. Your essay should answer the following questions.
- What is the overall argument of your film?
- What are some pieces of evidence your film includes to make its argument?
- How do the filmmakers use ethos, pathos, logos, and Kairos?
- Do you find your film convincing? Did it inspire you to change any of your current actions or habits? Or, if you cannot relate directly to the film, do you still believe it's worth watching for social change? Why or why not?
