Problem: Main Entry (Parts 1-3)
Part 1: Provide a response to A and B below. Using your Unit 2 Learning Resources, identify two aspects of clinical assessment that you think are most important and justify your choices with specific (not general) examples. If you were a clinician, what aspects of the process would be the most interesting (engaging? Enjoyable?) for you? And why? Need Assignment Help?
Part 2: Discuss what is meant by the phrase "limited usefulness of diagnosis." Cite information and evidence from your reading this Unit (primarily, the Henderson & Martin [2014] chapter). Bring in any outside source to support your conclusion as well.
Part 3: Choose one of the psychotherapy approaches discussed in the Boettcher et al. reading and, using Google.com/scholar or the UMGC library, locate a treatment study that focuses on this approach. Identify the specific feature of this treatment that is intended to work with this population and give a brief overview of the study results.
Remember to cite and reference your treatment study appropriately.
Example: Mindfulness-based treatment study for depression Strauss, C., Dunkeld, C., & Cavanagh, K. (2021). Is clinician-supported use of a mindfulness smartphone app a feasible treatment for depression? A mixed-methods feasibility study. Internet Interventions, When a depressed client is mindful of the thoughts in their head, they are better able to view them objectively and not have an immediate negative emotional reaction. For example, a client can notice that they have the thought "I always fail at everything" and rather than feel sad, guilty, or incompetent, the person can simply observe: "That's an interesting thought. But it's just a thought. An unhelpful one. I'm going to let it go..." This study sought to determine if a mindfulness-based app could help people with depression, especially if there was a therapist who was helping them use it. The study results were preliminary and thus inconclusive, but positive regarding the use of the "Headspace" app for use in clinical settings - the more clients used the app, the less severe their depression symptoms became.
