During this semester, each student in the programme must present and defend an in -depth paper on an epidemiologic topic. The paper can take the form of a critical review of the existing epidemiologic literature about a particular topic.

The student will work with and receive ongoing input from that faculty member during the various stages of planning and writing the paper. At the end of this semester and before final submission of the final paper.

CRITERIA FOR ACCEPTABLE FORMATS FOR THE ESSAY ARE THE FOLLOWING:

- A review of the literature on a specific public health topic (Not less than three research articles) need to attached with solution

- A surveillance report based on local, national and international surveillance data.

Upon satisfactory completion of this assignment with a concentration in Epidemiology, students will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

- Choose a disease of your interest (Communicable or non communicable disease).

- Describe the nature of disease distributions in populations and the factors that influence these distributions.

- Explain and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the key study design used in epidemiological research (cross- sectional, case- control, cohort and experimental design)

- Interpret the epidemiological data sets and bio statistical results and compare the results with the existing local, national and international policies and procedures.

PRODUCT:

- Essay paper includes 2000 words (excluding the in- text citations, table of content, references, appendices, tables and graphs, etc).

- The Essay should have a title page.

- The title page should have the student's name, course title, topic title, faculty name, date of submission and the word count.

- The margins should be at least 1 inch (25 mm).

- The text should have 1.5 (or double) line spacing.

- Divide the text into paragraphs, with a blank space between each paragraph.

- The font size should be 12 point, and the print should be clear and black.

- The page number should be displayed at the top or bottom of each page.
