Results: Largely depends on the LV function. In most centres surgical mortality is 3 to 4 percent. For patients with severe LV dysfunction the immediate and late results of surgery are not so good. The long-term survival at the end of 5, 10 and 15 years are 75 per cent, 60 per cent and 40 per cent.
