Development of an Action Plan

Please note that all assignments have indicated page lengths and number of scholarly resources; however, this does not mean this is the total minimal amount. All students must make sure the entire content is covered at the doctoral level with the number of scholarly sources to validate and synthesize the content. In addition, to proceed from assignment to assignment while making progress, all students must be in good academic standing.

An action plan is a well-defined description of a goal to be achieved. It discusses specific changes that need to be done and specific action steps that are needed to bring changes to the organization. The purpose of the action plan is to explain in detail how the chosen strategy will be implemented.

You will write your action plan. First, you will need to include a summary table with the steps of the Action Plan. The table can be found in the Canvas Course. Then, you will need to write a narrative to explain the following information from the summary table:

1. Action Steps - Different steps that you will need to follow in order to implement the strategy.

2. Timeline - You need a clear plan to what you want to achieve in this potential implementation. Create a timeline for each action step. The timeline should take place with your organization´s fiscal year (e.g., July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022).

3. Roles and Responsibilities - Select the right people to accomplish the right things in the right way. In this section, you will explain the role and responsibilities of each person in this action plan.

4. Resources - Write about the resources and support that you will need to make the changes that your organization will need during your potential implementation. You need to include both, what is needed and what is available.

5. Organizational Support - Describe your collaborators or stakeholders of the organization that can potentially support the implementation.

6. Barriers or resistance - Identify potential barriers or resistance that you may encounter in the process of implementation. Write a plan to overcome them.

7. Evaluation - Explain how you would evaluate your progress while in route to your goals.

The narrative should be supported with a minimum of 15 scholarly and current sources/references. You will write 10 full pages of narrative. Other sources and personal communication (refer to pages 260-261 of APA 7th ed.) may also be included to support your Action Plan.
