My name is Peter Mofor, I work as an LPN in a transitional care unit. I think with this course I will be able to provide care and treatment which has been proven to be effective and safe by researched. Research vs. Evidence-Based Practice in Nursing The course helps me understand how evidence-based practice (EBP) develops safe nursing practices that meet high-quality standards. The research and evidence-based projects share a connection, but their functions remain distinct. Nursing research follows a systematic approach that produces new knowledge regarding clinical issues or treatment methods, while evidence-based projects utilize current knowledge and clinical skills and patient needs to assess and implement changes within specific environments (Houser, 2025; Polit & Beck, 2021). The research process determines which information needs to be discovered, while EBP determines the optimal method for utilizing existing information (LoBiondo-Wood & Haber, 2021). A research project in my clinical environment involved staff members conducting a study that tests two different wound care techniques for treating pressure injuries in a medical-surgical environment. The team implementrd a structured research framework that gathered data about healing duration and infection occurrence, which they used to evaluate which treatment approach proves more successful.
