For this assignment you will complete three-part research assignment culminating in a 4 to 5 page research paper.
Part 1: Research
For this first part of the assignment, research three educational approaches/curriculum models used in early childhood programs. Choose three (3) from the following: High Scope, Waldorf, Bank Street, Emergent Curriculum, Creative Curriculum, Project Approach or Reggio Emilia.
Gather information on the program history, main components including social aspects, curriculum and environmental set up, what is unique about the program, and how can one tell if a school is truly following the model.
Part 2: Compare and Contrast
In your paper, compare and contrast the three (3) methods you chose according to the seven quality measures compiled by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority as listed below. You are welcome to use headers for each section, but remember this is a research paper, so an introduction, conclusion and conventional writing are expected. Include specific details from your research including in-text citations.
• Educational program and practice
• Children's health and safety
• Physical environment
• Staffing arrangements
• Relationships with children
• Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
• Leadership and service management
Part 3: Differentiated Instruction
• Include a determination on which one of the three (3) methods you chose would best support differentiated instruction and why you believe that to be so. A Provide rationale using specific details about the method from your research including in-text citations.
• You will need to cite at least two (2) sources that were used to collect information for this assignment. Use an APA formatted title and reference pages, as well as, in text citations where appropriate.
