Research the policies within your healthcare organization


Problem: Locate an example of an organization that willingly accepted a kickback.  What was the outcome? How might this impact public perception of the organization?  What might this say about the values and culture of the organization?  How could strategy one or two from your course readings this week apply to the occurrence of kickbacks?

In the healthcare industry, there are many "opportunities" for kickbacks or unfair trade practices to occur.  However, your organization may have policies that address kickbacks.  Research the policies within your current or previous healthcare organization.  Share with the class how the organization addressed kickbacks.  Based upon this, do you feel this is something that healthcare leaders can easily manage?  Why or why not?
