On February 23, 1991, one of the most tragic fires to date happened at 1 Meridian Plaza in Philadelphia. As a result of this fire and the deaths of several Philadelphia firefighters, many codes were changed that affected different fire protection systems in high-rise buildings.
Research the 1 Meridian Plaza tragedy. After completing your research, write a review of this tragedy, concentrating on codes and fire protection systems that contributed to this tragedy, tying these to this unit's readings. Discuss what went wrong and how these systems and codes, or lack thereof, contributed to the deaths of the firefighters that night. This review is to be two pages in length.
