Section/Part 1:

You need to:

• Present the team that you have selected for the project and provide the underpinning rational of why you have chosen them, how they constitute a good balanced team

• State your budget

• Present and explain your Gantt Chart

• Present and explain your Network Diagram

o Identify the Critical Path
o Identify the project duration

Section/Part 2:

As PM you will be provided with a number of problems. You should carry out any necessary changes to your project.

• Detail the changes made

• Discuss and evaluate how you dealt with the changes

o Reference where appropriate
o Detail how the changes have affected your project in terms of management
o Detail how the changes have affected your project in terms of the initial documentation
o Provide an amended Gantt Chart, Network Diagram and critical path
o Provide amended budget and project duration

Section/Part 3:

Your are required to research the different development approaches that have been discussed in lectures and select the one[s] you feel would be most appropriate for this project. You need to

• Provide evidence of independent research
• Provide critical evaluation of your chosen approach and its underpinning rationale
• Explain briefly why  you did not consider the other approaches
• You must provide references in this section to pass

Changes to Alliance Project Scope:

The following decisions have been made by the Senior Management :

NOTE : Due to overrun on a concurrent project the following changes will take affect from beginning of week four of the start of your project.

1.  The time scale of the following activity has been reduced to 18 days.

You are required to recalculate the effort required, your previously proposed budget and the overall project duration. The effect on your previous intended calculations will depend on how you have already planned the project. Please amend your Gantt Chart accordingly.

2. The time scale of the following activity has been increased to 10 days

3. Neither of the Networks Specialists are available due to a severe crisis in another project. We are outsourcing this activity to Singh Patel of Network Ready Ltd at daily cost of £240. He is only available between weeks 3 – 6. The effort is the same as previously stated.

4. Due to an emphasis being placed on the corporate ‘equal opportunities policy’ the company wishes to ensure that both men and women are equally accommodated within reason for the proposed team mix.

5. Please note that the following new daily rates have been implemented:

– Adam Harris = £160
– Tariq Khan  = £175
– Louise Matthews = £285

6. Senior Managers have noted that there is some serious conflict in the project team between two of the developers who are refusing to work together.  As Project Manager you are required to resolve the conflict in an appropriate manner

Once you have rescheduled and recalculated the proposed development plan and budget please set out your amended figures and justifications and keep your amended records for the forthcoming report.
