Effective Leadership

The EMS system can be defined as being a system that offers medical emergencies to its clients. To ensure that medical responses are carried out in a well-coordinated and synchronized manner, the leaders in the EMS should be in a position to show effective leadership. Therefore effective leadership can be described as a vital element of implementing the EMS. Effective leadership means that the leaders should be able to adopt change and also be willing to accept change (Luna, 2015). Being ready to recognize change can help the leaders in implementing new technologies and also assist in the adoption of new leadership skills that match the changes being experienced in the modern day world. Updating to new technologies can also help in the implementation of new approaches to emergencies (Leggio, 2014).

Secondly, an active leader in the EMS system should be a networking individual. That is he or she should be willing to attend seminars and also continually interacting with other EMS leaders with the objective of exchanging ideas. Furthermore, an effective EMS leader should be a good decision maker, that is he or she should not hesitate to make decisions at the right time. That is they should make decisions that should be in need of being defended later. Moreover, these leaders should also develop the aspect of interpersonal awareness. This means that they should promote issues such as effective communication and also develop an effective workplace for the other employees. Lastly, these leaders should also be in a position to ensure that the other staff members are committed to whatever they are doing, even they should be in a place to develop effective and efficient teams that will help in meeting the goals and objectives of the EMS (Crowe, et al, 2017).
