Research behind extrinsic rewards

Assignment: Provide doctoral work.

Free-Time Motivation

For this assignment, you will be placed (virtually) in a real-world scenario that occurs in organizations. 3M provided similar perks to Google which pioneered "20% Time," referring to the time given to employees each week to work on projects they are passionate about, within reason. This assignment will allow you to consider motivation and emotion of employees, along with the accompanying decisions leaders must make.

SCENARIO

As CEO of a large organization, you would like to implement Google's structure. However, you must seek approval from the board and ensure that employees will be on board with this transition. Before moving forward, you must completely understand the research, so a formal proposal may be written.

The proposal must include research on the following:

• The research behind extrinsic rewards and how they would be applied in this situation.

• The research behind intrinsic rewards and how they would be applied in this situation.

• The potential downside or costs which can emerge from this structure.

Your proposal should be realistic, coherent, and precise. It should address all three required components in a research-based manner using text support and outside research to create a comprehensive and informational proposal of the free-time structure within your organization.

The essay should describe the proposal and should be 2000 words. It must include at least five (5) citations. Follow the guidelines for APA writing style, including proper headings for each section you are addressing. The title page and references page do not count toward the minimum word amount for this assignment.
