Relation between stress and strain:
The relation between stress and strain is generally shown by plotting a stress-strain (σ -e) diagram. Stress can be plotted on ordinate (vertical axis) and strain on abscissa (horizontal axis). This type of diagrams is most common in strength of materials for understanding behavior of materials. Stress strain diagrams are drawn for the different loadings. Hence they are called as
