REGULATIVE THEORY

1. It was propounded by Hens Driesch.
2. He performed experiments on the eggs of sea urchin similar to the experiments performed by Roux.
3. He observed that when two cells formed after first cleavage are separated, both of the cells form two different embryo/larva which are complete but smaller.
4. On this basis he explained that the egg has homogenous substances which get distributed in daughter cells equally.
5. Schmidt, Spemann & Endres supported the findings of the Driesch.
