Regional/National Encyclopaedia:
Libraries all over the world possesses English language encyclopaedias in non-English languages which are rich in information. They should not be overlooked. The national encyclopaedia of a country provides detailed information about history, literature, culture, customs, festivals, geographical details, socio-economic and political conditions etc. of the country.
- The articles regarding the specific aspect of a country moved with accurate details in foreign, national encyclopaedias are not dealt with in detail in regional general encyclopaedias.
- Certain special topics such as biographies of notable persons, historical, topographical, cultural, socio-economic, political conditions of a small country may be either completely omitted or discussed in less detail in general encyclopaedia. Such information is available in detail in national encyclopaedia of the country concerned.
