Reflecting on my current developmental stage

Problem:

When reflecting on my previous developmental stage and my current developmental stage, I can clearly see how much growth has taken place over time. During my previous developmental stage, adolescence and early adulthood, much of my focus was on identity formation and learning how to navigate independence. According to the textbook, adolescence is a time when individuals work toward "developing a coherent sense of identity," which strongly influenced how I viewed myself and my future goals (Lally & Valentine-French, 2022). This stage involved exploring personal values, building relationships, and gaining a better understanding of who I was becoming. Physically, my previous developmental stage involved reaching physical maturity and adjusting to changes in my body. Psychosocially, this stage was marked by learning how to manage emotions and relationships, as well as becoming more independent from family. Cognitively, I experienced growth in my ability to think more abstractly and critically. The textbook explains that cognitive development during this time includes the ability to "think about possibilities and engage in more complex reasoning," which I noticed as I began making more thoughtful decisions about my education and future (Lally & Valentine-French, 2022). In my current developmental stage, early adulthood, I feel more stable and goal-oriented. This stage focuses heavily on responsibility and long-term planning. Respond to this discuss post.
