Question 1: Reflect on medical (or for that matter, university) education as described by Ms. O'Keefe Aptowicz in her book. What elements of that system surprised you, appalled you, appealed to you? At the same time, there are plenty of examples provided in the book and in today's world where medicine is recalcitrant to change. Please discuss a couple of examples from the book where science (or at least the scientific establishment) was resistant to scientific advancements. Pair those examples with one from todays medical world. Then discuss some of the reasons (you are free to speculate within reason) on why there is often hesitancy to scientific advancement in medicine.
