Read the bio and at least three poems printed for each of the poets you are assigned to study this week. As you read the poems, try to think about what is peculiar to each poet and her/his work. Look at subject matter and form, imagery, symbols, sound of words, and so on.
You may want to review the supplemental reading on the elements of poetry from last week if you feel you need more guidance on what to look for when you compare & contrast poets and their work. Also, the step by step comparison and contrast essay instructions included in the course materials.
