Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Dynamic Routing Protocol
Read the following sections from OSPF: Anatomy of an Internet Routing Protocol (the book is available through UMGC's library. Sign in with your UMGC credentials when prompted).

- 6.1 OSPF Areas
Review the following section from the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Request for Comment (RFC). IETF RFCs are documents explaining the internet standards track for protocols for the internet community. Section 3 below details the concept of splitting OSPF into multiple areas:
- Section 3 of RFC 2328 (Splitting the AS into Areas, p. 26-39)
In your post, describe whether OSPF should be classified as a distance vector (DV) routing protocol. Give special consideration to Moy's own words when he posits, "The exchange of routing information between areas is essentially a Distance Vector algorithm" (Moy, 1998, p. 125).

- Indicate whether you agree with your classmates' assessments of the classification of OSPF as a DV routing protocol.
- Try to expand on your rationale by asking your classmates questions and provide additional resources and evidence to support your claims and to expand their thoughts on their point of view.
