2. Critique the usual way you have been taught about scientific method - does it explain all the scientific studies you know about? Mention two types of studies/experimental approaches the typical depiction of Scientific Method does not address.

3. What is the main difference between controlled experiments and observational studies? In controlled experiments, can one infer cause and effect? What about in observational studies? Explain.

7. What is the peer review process? How does it fit into a discussion of the process of science?
8. Professional Peer Review assesses both the study design and the author's interpretation in the submitted manuscript. What are some aspects of study design that are assessed? What aspects of interpretation are peer reviewers checking?
9. Say you have stumbled upon an interesting article in the newspaper describing a new study which found that a berry that grows in the Australian outback increases lifespan. List all the things you would want to assess before you would be convinced that you should act on this new study.
