Reflection Essay
Students will read Bobby Jamieson's Going Public: Why Baptism is Required for Church Membershipand write a 5-page reflectionessay on the book. This assignment is to be more reflective than a book review.
Thestudent will engage various parts of the book and reflect on their own views of thetopics discussed. The essay needs to be written clearly and organized well, but itshould include the opinions of the student in response to the book and therefore isnot being graded based upon agreement with the book. In short, utilize the work as awriting prompt.
Some other points:
- Warrants and claims about the content
- Be rational in the essay with evidence and arguments
- Use footnotes for the sources
