Assignment task: The pharmacist is unable to reach a primary care (PC) practitioner for a customer who does not have enough blood pressure medication. The customer's prescription has expired and the pharmacist needs a verbal order to refill it. The pharmacist is concerned about the customer's blood pressure and heart issues (this frequent customer whose medical history is known to the pharmacist) and is afraid the customer could have a heart attack or stroke without taking his medication.
