rayleigh criterion resolving powera criterion for

Rayleigh criterion; resolving power:

A criterion for finding out how finely a set of optics might be able to distinguish. It start with the supposition that central ring of one image must fall on the primary dark ring of the other; for an objective lens along with diameter d and employing light  along with a wavelength lambda (usually taken 560 nm), the resolving power is approximately given trhough 1.22 lambda/d.
