• Ray invites his new girlfriend out for a special date. He tells her that they will be going to the best restaurant in San Francisco. When he picks her up in his best suit, she is in jeans and a t-shirt. He takes her to the restaurant but is angry inside, and he doesn't ask her out again.
• Jeanie goes to the doctor who notices that she has lost a lot of weight. He asks her if she has stopped eating regularly or if she is throwing up after she eats. She insists that she is eating a normal diet. He prescribes some high carbohydrate shakes and a consultation with a psychologist. She is upset with the diagnosis.
• Marina does an informative essay for her English class on the legacy of jazz singer Billie Holiday. She then uses this essay for her music class when she is assigned a paper on a musician. The music teacher gives her an F for plagiarism. Marina is very upset.
• Ricardo slows down as he approaches a stop sign but a construction worker waves him through the intersection. A police officer who is riding behind him gives him a ticket for going through the stop sign. Ricardo is very upset.
