Racism, poverty, and nationality-based discrimination

Problem: When we look at these three barriers together, a pattern appears. Racism, poverty, and nationality-based discrimination often overlap and reinforce one another. An immigrant who is also a person of color might meet both racial bias and nativism at the same time. Poverty makes any other barrier harder to fight because it takes energy and time just to survive. Meanwhile, the dominant group benefits from easier access to networks, better schools, and the assumption of belonging. The result is that some people start the "race" toward the Dream far behind others. Need Assignment Help?
