Demonstrated that the student has grasped the accounting concepts. The paper should encompass either when accounting standards were not following (and the consequences of that) or the regulations that arose from those circumstances.
The paper topic can be related to the subject of accounting gone bad. It will be one on recent events or one from the past, or could be on what new accounting procedures came out of that problem (APB, SOX, or FASB). The paper could include what the problem was, who it involved, who was impacted and the punishment if any.
