A manufacturer of exercise equipment for health clubs is interested in comparing usage of equipment as in treadmills, bikes, stairs, etc. for men and women. Manufacturer is interested in determining if women use exercise equipment significantly additional than men. Random samples of 250 men and 250 women in downtown Baltimore health clubs were selected and usage of equipment was determined. Results indicated that women averaged 2 hours per week and men averaged 1.25 hour per week. Standard difference for the women was 20 minutes and standard difference for the men was 35 minutes. Use an alpha of .10. The necessary standard error is 2.55.
