This is what I posted ,

According to the US history between 2008 and 2014, the powers of the modern presidency have been shaped by a combination of constitutional and evolutionary powers. In addition, the personalities of strong Presidents have expanded the role far beyond the greatest fears of the antifederalists of the late 1700s

There has been change in the power of the Presidents between the 20th and the 21st century, but there were different President's before them who laid the foundation for it to be done. The President has the power to implement Executive Orders. Things such as the U.S.A. Patriot Act of 2001 and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 have been changed during these times But most of the changes in this act happened after the 911 attack. The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act allows us to spy on enemies to determine the seriousness of the threat they carry and how they can affect the nation (Tushnet, 2015). The U.S.A. Patriot Act of 2001 allowed the United States government to spy on their very own citizens (Tushnet, 2015). It is the U.S.A. Patriot Act of 2001 is complicated and difficult to comprehend.USA has been spying on other nations for years, spying of the citizens of this country seemed more of a rumor to me. It is hard to believe that it was possible to pass a law like tis via the president, but I guess it was.

According to US history between 2008 and 2014, Presidential power grew in the form that ,the President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States could be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. President Clinton was for example impeached yet not removed from office. No one hears the word impeach the President and thinks that it holds water. So this is a power that is fundamental for the people and to keep understand and in a since it has been passed to the President.
