Ruritania Telecom is a key telecommunications company involved in phone, internet and other services. Recently, company was acquired by a foreign multinational. The company has embarked on a wide restructuring plan and re-branded its products. Its mobile service now known as "Red" is the mostly used network locally. The company has become one of the most profitable in the country with an unpleasant turnover of more than Rs 900 million. Over years, this near-perfect image has been tarnished by several scandals and employee protests. A variety of newspapers have been criticizing the company for its obsession with profits and setting up of many antenna installations in residential areas causing health concerns. Its offices in capital are found in tall skyscrapers but the surroundings slums with iron sheets and poor sanitation project a negative image of the company, some labelling it as "detached' from reality. The wages of workers have not been reviewed as years, conditions of service have been deteriorating and street protests are becoming a national concern. The company's Chief Executive Officer announces that company will embark on a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan in an attempt to resolve the problems.
