How would one reply to a discussion in a minimum of 3-4 sentences that says-

I chose to analyze the poem "Violence I know you" by Khadija Queen. I choose this poem because of its personification of violence. Queen depicts almost an obsession with violence saying that violence is her true lover and insinuates that nothing else can satisfy her. The use of metaphors is prevalent in this poem, comparing violence to a question we know we has no answer yet we are drawn to try.

In my opinion, this poem is a metaphor for the connection between mankind and the never ending desire to conquer anything. I believe that Queen stunning states mans' inherent greed for conquest and the inability to surpass this "violence". At the end her first paragraph Queen paints a picture that violence has become her voice now, this is a bold and powerful statement. Violence has become a norm for our generation, this sense of conquering being passed down. A sense of temporary fulfillment is what we live for and conquering those we don't understand "feels good" as Queen mentioned.

The last two lines speak volumes to me. " We pretend voices tell us its music and familiar". We have lost the human factor due to a desire for war and conquest and we justify our actions with false truths. This is powerfully true today and the media is a prime example. Instead of during research and searching for our own answers, the population blindly take the medias' word as truth. There is no research concerning motives or party affiliation, we have simply been conditioned to being blindly guided.
