Quantitative analysis - Estimation of Elements
After qualitative analysis of elements, the another step in the determination of molecular formula of an organic compound is the estimation of several elements by mass, that is finding the percentage composition of the elements by mass. The several methods generally employed for the estimation of principal elements are as follow:
