The major cardiovascular diseases are hypertension, the cardiopathies, including coronary disease and myocardial infarction, and the cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs, or strokes). The Neoplasias are benign tumors and cancers. The major degenerative diseases of the nervous system are Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
