Johnson is a farmer in a small rural community in state A and makes his livelihood by raising cattle. One day he noticed that four cows had wandered out of his pasture and onto the property of his neighbor, Green. Johnson entered Green’s property for the purpose of retrieving his cattle. Just as Johnson approached the property, Green rushed out of the house and ordered Johnson off his property. An argument ensued and ended in Johnson knocking Green to the ground. Johnson took his cattle and left. Shortly afterward, Green reported the incident to the police, who arrested Johnson for assault and battery. In light of the statute mentioned, would a conviction be proper?
