Pupils of human eyes during examination

A drug company is studying two drugs, A and B, which are used to dilate the pupils of human eyes during examination. Nine persons were chosen and drug A was randomly applied to one eyes, and drug B to the other eye. The drugs were applied and after fifteen minutes, the diameter of pupils was measured. The measurements are given below.

a. Test the null hypothesis that the two drugs perform equally well at the 0.05 level.

b. Assume now that the two drugs were applied to 18 different people with 9 randomly receiving each drug. Test the null hypothesis of equal performance, again at the 0.05 level.
