Psychology Article Critiques
During the semester, you will be required to complete three (3) critiques of psychology studies. The articles will be distributed to you at the times specified on the syllabus. Your grade will be determined by how closely you follow the guidelines:
1. State the hypothesis i.e., what the investigators are trying to prove. Preferably, state the hypothesis in the null hypothesis form.
2. Describe the study in detail. Include in this section, the description of the subjects and the treatment groups.
3. Summarize the results Pay close attention to the tables and charts for clarity Do they complement the written material or are they confusing?
4. Interpret the results. In this section you are to suggest areas for future study based on the findings.
Remember: It is far easier to simply regurgitate the article than to apply critical thinking. You will be rewarded for creal-Riity.
