In the video Dr. Williams states that healthcare alone can't close the 4 year life expectancy gap between African Americans and Whites. He provides a wealth of reasons as to why this is the case. We have also explored reasons in the slide deck based on chapters 33 and 36 that could contribute to this gap. Extract the possible cause from the slide decks or the video that is most salient to you (eg. implicit bias, medical mistrust, historical trauma, social determinants of health) and then select one of the strategies discussed in the video that will best address the possible cause you selected.
