Your manager asks you to do some research and develop an outline of important information that needs to be presented. This is your first opportunity to help your manager with an in-service and you want to make a good impression.
1. List the three basic types of crisis situations and provide a brief definition of each.
2. Provide an overview of how to assess a patient in crisis including assessment for thoughts of self-harm, the individual's perception of the crisis, the individual's support availability, and the coping skills the individual has or needs.
3. Define the three levels of care (primary, secondary, and tertiary) and give an example of each that is different from the example in your book.
