Problem
1) Goal
a) The development of a nurse residency program seeks to increase the percentage of nursing students who graduate and successfully finish the program and accept employment with our organization.
2) Objectives
a) Providing a variety of educational opportunities and a mentorship program to support the nurse residents.
b) Improve recruitment and retention strategies. Lastly, we want to increase the nurse resident's confidence when transitioning from student to nurse.
3) Strategies
a) Curriculum that addresses subjects like teamwork, communication, patient care, and critical thinking.
b) Offer a variety of educational opportunities, including case studies, lectures, and clinical simulations.
c) Provide nurse residents with mentorship from experience nurses.
Understanding how to monitor and evaluate success of each goal, objective, and strategy and determine how goals, objectives, and strategies reflect needs of stakeholders.
