Choosing Data Analysis and Presentation Techniques

The target population for my research is a cross-section of both the employees and people within the community. I will be able to draw information on the PPP models that exist at Chitungwiza Central Hospital from the employees. A realistic evaluation of the PPPs is essential to understand how the they work and whether it is benefiting the intended clients (Pawson and Tilley,1997).The employees will be both from the hospital and the partner as categorised below:

1. Hospital Executive Members and their Management.
2. Members from the partner firm
3. Consultant doctors.
4. Middle level employees namely, Government Medical Officers, senior sisters and senior technical and administrative staff.
5. Lower level employees at the hospital namely junior sisters, junior technical and administrative staff, nurse aids and general hands.

These people will help me in explaining models of PPP that currently exist at the hospital, how they were established and how they are governed.

The members of the community will give their opinion as to whether the PPPs are providing services as per their expectations.Cheyne et al.,(2013) pointed out that "there is low commitment by government institutions on PPPs which is further demonstrated by low uptake by the patients". This will enable me understand why this is the case, identify the challenges and difficulties so as to come up with a good conclusion.

The community will consist of the following stakeholders:

1. Patients both inpatients and outpatients at the hospital at the time of the survey
2. Relatives visiting or accompanying patients to Chitungwiza Central Hospital at the time of the survey.
3. Politicians and church organisations within the community.
This population is crucial in determining the acceptability of PPPs by the population of Chitungwiza and determine any knowledge gaps and challenges thereby coming up with possible recommendations.

Sampling methods:

The sampling method will be a systematic random sampling method in each stratum. The employee group is into four (4) strata, namely

1. Hospital executives and their management
2. Partner executives
2. Consultant doctors,
3. Middle level employees, and
4. Lower level employees.

The community will be into three strata, namely:

a. Patients.
b. Relatives of patients.
c. The Chitungwiza community.
At each stratum the first respondent is picked at random, the other respondents follow a predetermined sequence.

Instruments:

A self administered questionnaire with both open ended and closed ended questions will be used to collect data from the employees. Will conduct personal interviews for the people within the community. Doyle et al.,(2013) pointed out that "there are many decisions that need to be done such as who to interview, how many of the interviews is required and how the data will be analysed". It is therefore critical to listen to what people say and really understand what they will be saying "The interviews will carried out in mother language for most of the people to get their opinion about the PPPs at Chitungwiza Hospital

After obtaining consent, a self administered questionnaire will be distributed to all the targeted employees and the interviews will be done on agreed intervals with the respondents.
