Topic 1 - Diversity
Workforce diversity is inevitable in organisations. Write an academic essay on "Workforce diversity", addressing the following:
a) define workforce diversity,
b) discuss organisational opportunities and challenges associated with workforce diversity, and
c) with appropriate examples from Australian organisations, discuss the managerial interventions to address aforementioned challenges.
Topic 2 - Emotional Intelligence
It is believed that emotional intelligence is more important to managers than intelligence. Write an academic essay on "Emotional intelligence", addressing the following:
a) define emotional intelligence,
b) with appropriate examples, discuss why emotional intelligence is important to managers, and
c) discuss the ways in which one's emotional intelligence can be developed.
Task
You are required to choose only one (1) of the two essay tasks provided to you in the
Unit Moodle site and prepare an Academic Essay of 1500 words.
In your essay, you should establish your key argument(s) and provide evidence from academic literature and other appropriate sources to support your argument(s).
This task requires you to engage in extensive research within the academic literature, peer reviewed academic journal articles in particular. Your essay should also draw on relevant chapters of the textbook, plus at least five references from relevant academic peer reviewed journal articles (a minimum of six references).
This written assessment is designed to assist students to demonstrate their understanding of concepts, theories, and models related to ‘Organisational Behaviour'. It also provides an opportunity for students to enhance their research, analytical, critical thinking, and written communication skills.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
