Art Journal

This week, you will begin to construct an art journal using Prezi. Registering to use Prezi is free, and it is highly recommended that you sign up as soon as possible and review the "Learning Prezi is easy" page and the various ways you can design your journal. For detailed information on using the application, you can review the Prezi's "Manual/FAQ" page or watch the Prezi Demonstration.

For this week's art journal, provide an interpretation and personal reflection of a work of art of your choice. You may draw from resources in the textbook, the CourseMate Bonus Images, or digital image resources in Week One. As an option, consider visiting a local art museum to gain an even higher level of insight into the experience of art and art appreciation.

Your interpretation and reflection should be based on what you have learned about the process and components of art appreciation. Refer to the assigned reading from the textbook and required videos as examples of how to interpret works of art. Also, include any other significant details that make this work unique.

TIP: To fully contemplate the work of art using what you have learned about art and art appreciation, it is recommended that you examine the work of art for at least ten minutes, taking note of your reactions and observations throughout your examination. Use these notes to compose your journal entry.

Include an image of the work of art you have chosen, drawn from any of the museum websites, resources listed in Week One, or perhaps the digital image of a work of art you saw at a local museum. In your art journal entry, be sure to cite the work of art.

Please follow the basic modified APA style citation format in the APA Artwork Citations document to reference works of art.Recommended
