Human or Posthuman: Road to the Future
For this episode's investigation, provide a window into the world of 2040 for Professor Grey. He needs to consider this information when planning his future classes and those of his replacement. Think about what the future robotics expert Hans Moravec, AI expert Marvin Minsky, and nanotechnology prophet Dr. Kaku, believe possible. Your report can imagine you or someone you know such as a child or niece/nephew or younger colleague or even you at an age only possible through expanded health care technology, in the year 2040 sending the report back to the professor. Your report can be a 500 word letter to the professor, a slideshow presentation, an animated cartoon, or even a landscape drawing with a representation of what humans might look like in 2040. You can use a graphic illustration program such as Adobe Illustrator or draw freehand and scan. Make sure your report makes reference to Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics.
