Write a comparative response to a pair of the readings assigned in a single class, listed below. You are expected to analyze and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the readings, comparing and contrasting them.
Responses should:
1. Provide a synthesis of the central arguments of each reading (NB: the purpose of the assignment is NOT to simply summarize the readings, so be succinct);
2. Analyze the strengths, weaknesses, similarities and differences between the readings, including whether and how they differ and to what extent their respective arguments are compatible or in conflict (NB: it may be helpful to think of this as putting the readings ‘in conversation' with each other, i.e. what can we interpret each reading as having to say about the other?);
3. Contain a thesis statement which takes a stance on the readings; and
4. Employ proper grammar, spelling, and writing style AND a proper citation style (in-text citations preferred but not required).
