I already have the attention grabber, relevance etc. the credibility must have emphasis with the speech that i wrote.

Proposition Statement: To persuade the audience that the recreational use of marijuana should not be legal.

Title:

The Introduction

I. Attention Grabber:This is Gisselle Hernandez. 18 year's old, senior in high school, manager in training at McDonald's. My coworker and my friend. On Saturday, October 29th, I was at a Halloween party with some other coworkers, when one of them got a call. This guy, Trey, who used to work with us, is freaking out because he can't get in touch with anyone who knows Gisselle personally. Why, because he was smoking with her, and then her heart stopped.

II. The Relevance:What if this happened to someone you knew? Or to the bus driver who is bringing your kids home from school? Every time someone smokes marijuana, like every other drug, there is always a risk of something bad happening that could potentially be life ending.

III. The Credibility:

IV. The Proposition Statement:Today we want to show you the consequences of using marijuana, how starting with smoking marijuana can lead to doing other drugs, how often people will be getting high if marijuana is legalized and how that will affect people's responsibilities, and the short-term and long-term effects of smoking marijuana.

Transition:Let's start by discussing what some of the consequences are from smoking marijuana.

The Body:
I. Consequences of Using Marijuana

A. Lack of Knowledge
1.

B. Not Thinking Before Acting
1.

C. People think of marijuana as a stress reliever, but thinking it's harmless and not taking precautions before using it can lead to some drastic outcomes.

Transition:Now that I have discussed with you the consequences of using marijuana, Raul will now talk about how staring with marijuana can lead to doing other drugs.

II. How Marijuana Leads to Doing Other Drugs
A. When the High Isn't Enough Anymore

Transition: Now that you know that marijuana can lead to doing other, more serious drugs, Brianna is going to talk to you about how often people are getting high.

III. Frequency of People Getting High & Handling Responsibilities
A.

Transition:Now that you can see how people are overusing and abusing marijuana in a recreational sense, Alain is going to enlighten you on the long-term and short-term effects of using marijuana.

IV. Long & Short Term Effects of Marijuana Use
A. Long term effects
1.

B. Short term effects
1.

Transition: Now that you've heard everything we've had to say, we hope you are a little more understanding on why we are against the legalization of recreational marijuana.

The Conclusion
I. Brake Light:Everybody has their own opinion, and everyone chooses to relax in their own ways. However, there are less harmful and less illegal ways to destress, it's all a matter of putting in the effort to find those other methods.

II. Restate Proposition Statement:We informed you guys on the consequences of using marijuana and acting without thinking, how marijuana can lead to doing other drugs, how if it were legalized, people would be high pretty much all the time and they would be shirking their responsibilities, and the long and short term effects of marijuana use.

III. Remind Us:

IV. Memorable Remark: After getting Trey in touch with Celeste, Gisselle's cousin, all of us at the party who consider her a friend couldn't do anything but wait. Eventually we got word, Gisselle was okay. Thankfully Trey reacted quickly enough and got her help in time, but what if he was too stoned to even comprehend what was going on? What would've happened to her? We later learned that Gisselle had told Trey the only way to get with her sexually, was if she was high. So we got to thinking, what did he actually give her?

What was he trying to do and because she didn't think about it, what could've been the outcome of that night? There are people out there who are seriously ill, who need this. Those who use it as an escape from the real world are taking advantage of it. Legalizing the recreational use of marijuana will not only increase the bad choices we make, but it will decrease productivity. What will happen to America then?
