Question: Project Report (30%) and Presentation (5%)
Propose an HCI design of the future. This requires creative thinking and understanding HCI trends, but should be based on known emerging technologies. The proposal should lead to a new generation of effective HCI design facilitating human-to-computer and/or human-to-human interaction. The project should include the following :
• Identify a particular application domain / device / system ...
• State the limitations of existing HCI with current technology
• Describe specific emerging technologies which you believe could be adopted in the future
• Explain clearly how the proposed design works, use diagrams, graphics, video or animation if
necessary.
• Explain how the proposed design could be adapted to different applications.
• Explain the benefits and significance of the proposal
• Estimate how long before the proposal could be materialised and any risks in developing
your proposal.
The length of the assignment should be about 4000 words (not including the Appendices). That is, it should be no more than 8 pages on an A4 page, with font size 10 printed characters. Use the provided template and upload a copy to the LMS (Moodle). Use the MS Word format - do not convert to a pdf file.
A short PowerPoint type presentation of 4-5 slides about the project is to be delivered in class in Week 13.
