Assignment task: Read the case study below and use in-text citations (references) to answer the following questions:
1. Explore the problem described in the case study using design thinking fundamental attitudes (e.g. think flexibly, work integrally, empathise, cooperate, imagine, and experiment). You may wish to use the DT toolbox at this stage.
2. Using the design thinking way of working:
A. identify 2-3 possible solutions to the problem (diverging)
B. evaluate the appropriateness of each solution in terms of:
- validity
- desirability
- feasibility.
3. Choose the solution that is most appropriate to the context described in the case study (converging).
4. Propose a solution to management to secure funding.
Case study:
London Ambulance is looking forward to the next steps of their digital transformation. They want to be able to provide their officers with digital accessibility of patient information based on their patients' London Ambulance records and healthcare provider patient records. This accessibility of patient information will help the officers to better understand the patients' existing conditions and allergies if and when the patient is unable to speak or share information. With this, London Ambulance aims to better protect patient care and equip officers with the right information at the right time.
London Ambulance recognizes the challenges with healthcare provider patient record systems integration, as well as data integrity issues. They also realise the challenges of digital adoption among ambulance officers who may require additional training to trust this next step of digital transformation.
