Assignment task:
Your assignment for this week/module is to design/propose a "community day" for St. Francis College or any college &, i.e. in, the Current Political Moment. The day is about the current political moment and its impact on the SFC community/communities. What do we all need re: what's going on, in terms of support, knowledge/awareness, etc.
Events, resources, lectures, films, workshops, activities, entertainment, etc. Think widely and creatively. Imagine that you have been put in charge of this day and given a reasonable budget to put it together. What would most benefit the community? Be detailed about WHAT will take place, HOW it will take place, and WHY.
As a proposal to the SFC or any college administration. Details, details, details, including cost, resources, and benefits. Be clear how your plan for the day will be of interest and value. Imagine that there are numerous proposals and that the winner/best one gets not only to see their vision enacted, but other benefits as well: resume builder, course credits, payment. You need to differentiate your plan from the others.
You can format this as a formal business letter or memo (see previous modules for guidelines), whichever seems best to you; or, if you have a particular structure or format that you think would work better for you, could be an oral presentation, for example.
