Properties of Cardiac Cells
Automatically: ability of the heart to initiate impulses regularly and spontaneously.
Excitability: ability of cardiac cells to respond to a stimulus by initiating a cardiac impulse.
Conductivity: ability of cardiac cells to respond to a cardiac impulse by transmitting the impulse along cell membrane.
Contractility: ability of cardiac cells to respond to an impulse by contracting. (Contractile cells comprise the largest mass of the myocardium).
