Project manager on a software development

10. (TCO F) You are a project manager on a software development project. Senior management wants this software project to be completed in the fastest, most cost effective manner possible. With that in mind, you are considering what testing scheme to use for the software. You have three choices: Alpha testing, in which you test the product only once; Alpha and Bravo testing, in which the product is tested twice; or doing no testing at all on the software. If you choose Alpha testing, it will cost $2 million to the project and will likely produce a successful product with little rework 50% of the time. If you do both Alpha and Bravo testing, it will cost the project $4 million and will likely produce a successful product requiring little or no rework 75% of the time. If you choose a no testing scheme, you will incur no additional cost, but will likely only produce a successful product 25% of the time. If the product fails after testing, it will cost the company $15 million. Using a decision tree analysis, determine which scheme would be best for this project. Explain your answer.
