Productivity is an important indicator of a country’s development. Canada, and indeed much of the world, has been described as a knowledge society. How does this label affect the productivity measurement and the comparison of productivity between Canada and other countries? What are the measurement problems that occur when you attempt to measure Canadian productivity? Based on your findings, what do you think are the reasons productivity is difficult to improve in the service sector?
